MPAS viewing schedule

The Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society has its dark site located at The Briars on the Mornington Peninsula and has public viewings every first Friday of the Month, regardless of weather.  If it is cloudy, we will have extra presentations so you won't get bored.  The viewing starts at 8pm with a presentation while the skies darken, followed by an hour or more viewing under the stars through various member's telescopes.  Some of the largest telescopes require a two metre ladder to reach the eyepice whilst others are computer controlled and can find objects simply by selecting them from a menu and having the telescope automatically slew to the object and continue to track it as the Earth revolves.

As a member of the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society, I am proud to regularly present an astronomy related talk most months.  On this page I will attempt to indicate which topic I intend to talk about at the next event, as well as the talks presented in previous months.  So if you would like to check out what I am talking about before heading down there, please have a look at this page.  The pages on the side will give you some information about some of the models we have created to help people ot visualise various parts of the night sky.
