Generally our presentations are aimed at students from Grade 1 to Year 12+ (we have made a number of presentations to adult audiences, including conferences and astronomical "star parties", and kindergartens).
Depending on the audience, the talk can be altered to increase or decrease the emphasis on either of the core subjects. We have found that younger children appreciate a longer period on dinosaurs whilst older groups find the information on meteorites more interesting. To cater for this variation we have created a number of customised presentations for various schools, eg. we can add extra information about extinction to the end of our dinosaur talk and describe the extinction of animals today, and possibly our own!
If you would just like us to attend to a special event to add something "different", we can bring along some items to interest your target audience, see our "Science Night" page under presentations for more information. Astronomical talks can be designed to be suitable for scouting groups and cover many of the requirements for their "space badge".
Older audiences, such as retirement villages, can also be catered for with talks targetting topics of a general or notsalgic nature. Many older people will have clear memories of the early years of the space race and can recall the Moon landings in the late '60s and early '70s. If desired, we can tailor a talk that will tax their memories and expand their imagination.
Note that our presentations are based on current theories of evolution as first described by Charles Darwin in his landmark book “On the origin of species” first published on November 24, 1859. |
